Kildonan's Camp Dunnabeck

Founded in 1955, Kildonan’s Camp Dunnabeck is the oldest residential program of its kind. Camp Dunnabeck is an academic summer camp for students with dyslexia and language-based learning differences. We accept students of average to above-average intelligence. Camp runs for six weeks every summer. Boarding is available, as well as day camper options.

The camp’s unique blend of language remediation through daily, one to one, Orton-Gillingham tutoring, confidence-building, and recreational activities make Dunnabeck the world’s premier academic summer camp for students ages 8 through 16 with dyslexia or language based learning differences.

Campers meet with their Orton-Gillingham tutors for language training every day for a one hour, one-to-one, individualized session. All tutors at Camp Dunnabeck are trained in an accredited Associate-Level course by The Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators. Following the course, tutors participate in a practicum that includes observations and ongoing training by Fellows of the Academy. Both the camp and the training are accredited by the Academy.
